The Apartments are located on the third and forth floor of an old building, which means there is no elevator and the old high stairs make it feel like a six floors walk. Initially, when we ordered the room we only thought about carrying our suitcases once, but in fact it became really hard to walk the stairs after a whole day on sightseeing. If you are in good shape however, this shouldn't be a problem at all. Another more crucial disadvantage is the fact that the entrance to the apartments is not through the hotel and the front desk there but through an inner courtyard which can not be seen from the main street. As a women, going through there at night made me feel a little uncomfortable. However, again, if you are not taking a mother-daughter or a girls trip this should work out just fine. In case both those issues bother you - I would highly recommend checking out the "Casa Leto" hotel rooms. They have all the advantages mentioned above, are located only on the second floor and the entrance is through the main street.
The Apartment was Great! Location wise: It is located in less than a minute walk from a small groceries 24/7 store and less than two minutes away from the metro station and another larger store. There are a lot of small restaurants and coffee places around it. Also, The Walk to Nevsky prospect is very short and, just in case, there is a bus station that can take you anywhere you need to go. Staff: Since we lived in the apartments on the 4th floor, we communicated with the staff of the separate "Casa Leto" hotel downstairs (same management) through the intercom system at the door. Any problem we had, they solved quickly, made sure that anything we asked was done without having to remind them and we were welcome to go and ask question in the hotel any time. Cleaning and Facilities: The room was very clean and tidy, we had anything we needed. It was also cleaned once in the middle of our stay (after 3-4 days). The room has a great kitchen with enough dishes and pots for anything you would like to cook. In the bathroom, we had two towels per person and house slippers. After asking, we were informed there is a washer, dryer and an ironing board in the laundry room in the corridor which we were welcome to use.
